People tend to relate paper-making to pollution. Since its inception, the leaders took the pollution into consideration. Tiandiyuan Industry has considered environment protection as “life engineering”, “energy saving, consumption reduction and waste recovery” as obligatory social responsibility, and “zero emission” as evaluation standard of ecological construction and environment protection. Tiandiyuan Industry has invested RMB more than 500 million in biomass thermoelectricity project of paper-making pulp dreg and sludge incineration treatment, sewage treatment and greening of the industrial park.

Tiandiyuan Industry has invested RMB more than 450 million in biomass thermoelectricity project of paper-making pulp dreg and sludge incineration treatment, which is a resource biomass eco-friendly energy-saving power generation project taking pulp dreg and sludge as fuel, and an energy biomass project of reduction, harmlessness and resource recovery of solid waste. The project will make Tiandiyuan Industry form a closed-type circular economy system. The production process of the circular economy system is as follows:

The industrial paper of Tiandiyuan Industry is sold to carton plants of large enterprises. The products of the carton plants enter into plants, supermarket, and living consumption fields. The waste cartons from the plants, the supermarket, and the living consumption fields, via recycling channels, are used as raw materials of the industrial paper of Tiandiyuan Industry. It forms a closed-type circular economy system from products→consumption→recycle→raw materials to products.

The sewage containing the pulp dreg and sludge in the production process of the industrial paper, via Weiqiao sewage treatment plant, is treated by use of “Biological Aerated Filter + Chlorine Dioxide Disinfection” process. The treated-water quality meets class-A standard of Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant（GB18918-2002）, and is reused in paper-making production system. It realizes the closed-type circular economy system of the water from water→paper-making →sewage→treatment→reused water to paper-makingraw in the paper-making process.

The pulp dreg and sludge in the paper-making process can be used as main fuel, taking full use of its heat quantity. Through high-efficient burning, it can avoid such pollutions as landfill, overflow and infiltration of landfill leachate, stink caused by fermentation, meeting the concept of reduction, harmlessness and resource recovery of solid waste, and the Scientific Outlook on Development of the circular economy. Generate electricity and supply heat by use of the sludge and the pulp dreg in the paper-making process, with an annual power supply volume of 220, 000,000 KWH and an annual heat supply volume of 2,187,000 GJ. The electricity is combined to the State Grid, and is applied to production and life of Tiandiyuan Industry. The steam is also applied to production and life of Tiandiyuan Industry. The consumed pulp dreg and sludge mixed fuel is equal to save about 10.63T coal, targeting at waste recovery and energy saving, and recycling the sludge and the pulp dreg. At present, this technology has obtained national patent of utility model.
